Toll roads: where, how much and why?

Construction of toll roads has become one frequently discussed topics among motorists. Will the good are they and how cost effective their construction?

By 2008, planned to build a toll highway from Moscow to St. Petersburg, several roads on the Ring Road, including up to Domodedovo airport. The company plans to find a new exit from the Moscow Ring Road on the route Moscow - Minsk. In addition, currently in Moscow region are projected two toll road of regional significance: Moscow - Noginsk - walnut-Zuevo and Krasnogorsk trail that connects Volokolamskoye and Novorizhskoe highway.

But is it so unconditionally rely on the experience of others, because Russia, as we know, not Europe. The first and most important difference is the climate. Russia is in the middle zone, where the characteristic duration of the rains and sudden frosts, which are very detrimental effect on road surface. If the estimated lifespan of roads is 20-30 years, then, under the influence of climatic and technical factors, this figure is greatly reduced. A variety of anti-Friesians, which is sprinkled with the usual roads, ports and just destroy the coating. Add to this the specifics of Russian nature and winter in particular, and you realize that the road to the new and maladaptive for our climate-coated, not long survive.


Still, to quote a classic: "What Russian does not like to drive fast?". If translated into ordinary language, our drivers love the drive. Cars can still understand, but a huge truck, with a roar and trembling of the earth, careening past you, willy-nilly forced to think through how smooth path covered with potholes and pits. In this case, the chief architect said that the construction of toll roads - it is the prerogative of the federal government.
Summarizing, we can say that very much depends on with what care will be implemented this plan. With good organization and coordination of this washes out a good result. In another case, the project toll roads will suffer the sad fate of the good, but poorly implemented ideas.But if the state will be able to competently and clearly put their claims and to establish a reasonable fare, then Russia's economy will benefit from this much, as ordinary people are constantly circulating in these areas.
