Scientists who are engaged in the digitization of the Codex Sinaiticus, said that in the near future a copy of the famous manuscripts to appear online. Quite possibly, after the publication of the ancient text without exception religious denominations will have to reconsider many of the established dogma.

The fact that the Codex Sinaiticus contains the full text of the Bible. It includes the world's oldest version of the full text of the New Testament, as well as the text of the Greek translation of the Old Testament, which is known as the Septuagint, which include books that are now considered apocryphal.

Scientists believe that the manuscript was made on parchment - one of 50 copies of the holy scriptures, ordered by the Roman emperor Constantine after his conversion to Christianity. In the past 20 years to the original text were made only four of the researcher. The manuscript is named for the place of storage - the Monastery of Saint Catherine in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. It is known that the monastery is located at the foot of the mountain where Moses received the Ten Commandments.

The scrolls were in the monastery until the mid XIX century, while visiting his German scholar Constantin von Tischendorf took no part of the document to Germany and Russia. The monastery is still confident that the manuscript was stolen. However, history tells us the following.

Indeed Constantine Tischendorf arrived in Egypt for one purpose only - by all means get an ancient manuscript, which he learned during the years of study at the University of Leipzig. They moved the desire to restore the true text of the New Testament as well as numerous translations, in his opinion, could lose something important. For several years he has visited many cities in Europe, where he studied the ancient biblical source material.

At first he read the Code of Ephraim, who is also known as "Paris Codex." For this he had to scrape the parchment with a later text, printed on parchment and read the original ancient Greek text of the Bible. It was assumed that it was written in the 5 th century BC. In 1843, persistent Tischendorf published a palimpsest (a monument of literature, in which the original text is deleted and replaced with a new - prim.avtora) Ephraim Code, and had the opportunity to study the "Code of Alexandria" and sought permission of the Vatican to touch the "Vatican Code.

Following this, a German sent to Egypt. When he reached the monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai, there were only 18 monks. The monks were not predisposed to communicate with people of other faiths, but the latter did not intend to give up and found 129 parchments. It was the Greek translation of the Old Testament, the Septuagint ("Translation 70 interpreters"). New Testament then could not be found.

In 1853, Tischendorf again sent to the Monastery of St.. Catherine and invites the monks to sell the remaining parts of the Code. Inoki refused. Then Constantine decides to ask for help to the Russian government, who patronized the monastery of St. Catherine.

Returning to the monastery, Tischendorf met more friendly attitude of monks and the abbot gave the researcher an old manuscript, which was kept in his cell. Tischendorf joy knew no bounds! He received his primary sources, containing the entire New Testament, and the two apocryphal books. Neither the Vatican nor in Alexandria codes New Testament texts are not fully there. Also found was an ancient manuscript of the two already known to code! The find contained most of the books of the Old Testament and the New Testament, and, moreover, the Epistle of Barnabas and the Shepherd of Hermas.

beginning of the code passed in Tischendorf temporary possession. But then the great researcher met with no less than the great Russian Duke Constantine, and the monks send the manuscript as a gift to Russia. By the millennium festivities of the Russian state Constantine Tischendorf published the Codex Sinaiticus and brought the book to St. Petersburg. In Leipzig, she came under the heading: «Codex Bibliorum Sinaiticus Petropolitanus, rescued from the darkness under the patronage of His Imperial Majesty Alexander II. With the success of Tischendorf congratulated European monarchs and the Pope himself. In Russia, he received the hereditary nobility.

But the main merit of the scientist is to compare the four manuscripts: Codex Sinaiticus, Alexandria Code, Code of Paris and the Vatican Code. Thus, Tischendorf proved that the New Testament in modern Bible without distortion came from the 4-th century to the present. But as you know, by this time the Ecumenical Council of Nicaea had already approved the canonical Gospels. Therefore, if it has not caused more flashes from the apologists of Christianity.

Subsequently, the Codex Sinaiticus was presented to the Russian Tsar. In 1933 it was sold to England and exhibited at the British Museum in London. Anything in the world known to four fragments of manuscripts, the largest of them - 347 out of 400 pages - is stored at the British Library, the rest - in the university library in Leipzig (Germany), Russian National Library in St. Petersburg and in the monastery of St. Catherine.

However, the tradition of public contemplation of ancient manuscripts, only the first step toward the discovery of many new places in the Old Testament. The so-called apocrypha, non-canonical books, became an object of increased study of how theologians and enthusiasts. Found in 1947 in Israel, Qumran manuscripts, among which there are many apocrypha, treating a new controversial place in the Bible, has become a subject of dispute between the deep-rooted in the dogmas of priests and striving to get to the true explorers. And if before the main sources are stored under lock and key in the religious and secular libraries, now the crumbs of ancient texts are beginning to come out. When comparing these primary sources, disparagingly referred to the apocrypha, it becomes apparent incomplete narrative of the Old and New Testaments. And this is not about minor events, but the root. But, according to the predictions of many prophets and saints, in the end times people need to open up the many mysteries of the Earth and universe. And how they are able to take advantage of this, will define the future of Mankind.

Ca. (Septuagint - translation of the Old Testament, executed by order of King Ptolemy seventy interpreters (hence the name). Is the base for Orthodoxy. Since he had made all the translations into local languages. Catholicism uses a translation made by bl. Jerome - Vulgate).
