Two U.S. private pilot set a record circumnavigation by helicopter

August 19 2008

Pilots Scott Kasprowicz amateurs and Steve Sheik from the United States rounded the globe on a helicopter for 11 days, 7 hours and 1 minute, setting a new world record.

"Success has brought us the ability to accurately draw the route, which consisted of 80 segments, some of which fell on Russia, including in Siberia - Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk" - told the travelers on a personal site. They recalled that the previous world record for the world tour by helicopter is 17 days, 6 hours, 14 minutes and 25 seconds and was raised in 1996 by pilots Ron Bauer and John Williams.

At present, Americans have already filed an application to the King, Guinness, to secure their achievement, Interfax reported.
