"Formula 1" will be held in Abu Dhabi
Guide "Formula 1" has signed a seven-year contract to conduct races in United Arab Emirates. The first stage race will be held there in 2009.
Races will be held on an artificial island of Yas, whose area is 2500 hectares. The island also has begun construction of the theme park Ferrari. In addition to the yasa will be hotels, offices and golf courses.
The route length will be 5.8 kilometers.
"Initially it was a flat man-made island, but we have erected here a few hills, so that the track will have ups and downs, - says the creator of tracks Herman Tilke. - One of the route will remain in a pristine environment, and the other part - 2,5 km - will run through the streets (Yasa) along the marina.
