In Britain, doctors were allowed to use the organs of deceased patients

January 13 2008

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown supported the proposal to allow hospitals to withdraw organs from patients who died. He hoped that the new system will work this year. Thus, could save thousands of lives.

At present, organs can be used as the donor only if the written consent of relatives. Under the new initiative, this is no longer required. Doctors be allowed to withdraw the donation of organs if the family or the patient had not previously voiced their objections, reports Radio Mayak.
