A new syndrome: a phobia of climate change

July 10 2008

Australian psychiatrists have identified the first case of "delusional syndrome on climate change." In the psychiatric ward of the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, was sent to a young man of 17 years, eight months with depression. He has also occurred hallucinations, in which he saw apocalyptic catastrophe, writes Herald Sun.

Psychiatrist Joshua Wolf and Robert Seilo from the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, note that this kind of nonsense is "a phenomenon not previously recorded."

The patient is afraid to drink water. The young man has formed the belief that in an environment of climate change it is by consuming water, a few years later indirectly kill millions of people who will die because of water depletion.

Psychiatrists fear that the number of patients seeking psychiatrists complaining of hallucinations, may increase.
