Gays insist on a new march

Organizers of the march in support of gay rights on Monday morning, sent to Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, a new application to march in the Russian capital. The action, which will be held under the slogan of "tolerance and respect for human rights and freedoms of homosexual people, is scheduled for Sunday, May 27.

As one of its organizers, Nikolai Alexeyev, parade gay planned the building of Mospochtamta Myasnitskoi street to Solovetsky stone on Lubyanka Square. The figure of the alleged participants specified in the application - 5 thousand people.

"Our public event planned exclusively as human rights, not as a carnival. It will involve not only foreign but also Russian politicians, as well as known human rights" - said Alexeyev.

In May 2006 the Moscow authorities are not allowed to hold in the gay parade. Speaking in January at the Christmas readings, Mr. Luzhkov called such demonstrations "satanic act" and promised to continue to avoid them, and urged "not to breed muck discussions on human rights." In April, the Tver court of Moscow has rejected the claim of the organizers of the parade, Luzhkov of defamation, reports BBC.
