Radar Magazine has published a ranking of the most horrific of toys in U.S. history. Second place went to set for young physicists, who went on sale in 1951. Children are invited to conduct experiments with uranium-238.

The set consisted of a Geiger counter, electroscope and other devices, allowing to monitor radioactive particles, a book with basic information on nuclear physics, description of simple experiments, as well as examples of "innocent" of uranium. A set of cost 49,5 dollars and lasted for sale about a year. Several decades later, it became clear that uranium-238 cause cancer, leukemia and other serious diseases.

Among the worst of toys also includes the less exotic examples of adult fantasy. First place was taken by sharp darts Jarts, designed for throwing at a distance. In mid-1980's, they led to the 6,7 thousands of injuries and four children died.

In 1984-1985, the company sold the EZ Sale mini-hammocks, which strangled dozens of children and adolescents aged 5 to 17 years. This toy won the third place in the ranking.

In 1996, went on sale doll Cabbage Patch Snacktime Kid (producer - company Mattel, the famed manufacturer of dolls Barbie). Doll was able to chew, it is proposed to feed specially made plastic food. Along the way, the doll bit off 35 little fingers and caused hundreds of less serious injuries (fourth place).

In all these cases, the manufacturing companies were forced to withdraw from the sale of toys, buying patterns and previously sold to pay substantial compensation to the victims, reports
