In France, President Nicolas Sarkozy has demanded severe punishment for shooting at police during the riots. After returning from China, where Sarkozy paid an official visit, the President visited the Paris hospital where he is one of the injured police officers who received the most serious injuries, says RBC. "Those who are guilty of that shot at police, will appear before a court with grave charges," - said the French president.

Riots broke out in Villers-le-Bel on Nov. 26, 2007, after two teenagers were killed in a collision of a motorcycle with a police car and police left the scene of the accident, had no first aid.
