Polish homeless people gathered around the Christmas table

In the Polish city of Katowice, about a thousand homeless people gathered for a feast the night before the Catholic Christmas, local media reported.
According to the Polish Catholic tradition of Advent in the evening on December 24 every family in Poland, covering for their relatives and friends a festive table with 12 meatless dishes. For homeless Poles in Katowice this table year after year for the past 18 years organizing Gornosilezskaya charity (HBO).
Twelve traditional vegetable dishes for the festive table include fried carp, a Polish soup with "ears" (dumplings stuffed with mushrooms and cabbage), sauerkraut and mushrooms, sauerkraut and peas, dumplings stuffed with cabbage and mushroom pies, burgers Rice with mushroom sauce, dumplings with poppy seeds (as well as honey or sugar), compote of dried fruits, pie stuffed with cabbage and mushrooms, cabbage rolls and vegetable kutyu.
