Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the Chief of the Moscow metro Dmitry Gayev Order of Merit »III degree.

According to RIA Novosti, the head of Moscow's "Underground" won the award for "contribution to the development of the transport industry and many years of diligent work." The Moscow Metro, which opened May 15, 1935, became the basis of the transport system of the capital.
