American teenager tried to hijack a plane
A juvenile passenger in a bag which was found handcuffs, rope and tape, was arrested on Monday night at the airport american city Nashville (Tenn.) on suspicion of trying to hijack a plane, reported Friday by the Associated Press citing a statement FBI spokesman George Boldza (George Bolds).
According Boldza, 16-year-old, whose name was not reported, may have wanted to hijack a plane on which he flew from Los Angeles to Nashville.
"His plan (to seize the aircraft) had little chance of success" - said Boldz.
Representatives of the airline Southwest Airlines, flying, and airport Nashville yet commented on the situation.
The teenager is now in a temporary detention center for minors, where he was charged by authorities of the state of Tennessee. Later, he will be presented and the allegations made by federal authorities.
Earlier, the teenager was suspected that he wanted to send a plane into the building of a concert hall in Louisiana, but Boldz denied this information.
When they searched the house of a suspect the authorities have found a model cockpit.
Boldz said the teenager, probably wanted to become a suicide bomber, but a representative of the FBI has not commented on the mental state of the detainee.
According Boldza, during the voyage a teenager, flying alone, had behaved calmly and made no attempt to hijack a plane. However, after the arrest, he told the FBI about his intention to hijack the airliner.
