Bolivia's Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Indian Affairs announced the entry into force of the government's Equal Opportunity Program, designed to eliminate racism and caste in the national armed forces.

In accordance with the program, the first time in the history of Bolivia has been recruited to the Higher College of the Army Cadets in 1925 of both sexes from the representatives of Indian tribes inhabiting the western and eastern parts of the country.

Commander of Land Forces Gen. Freddy Bersatti explained that the first cadets Indians will have to undergo a preparatory course, as the level of knowledge obtained by young people in rural schools is extremely low, especially in the exact and natural sciences. "

In early 2007, the school year cadets Indians will be credited to the first year of college, according to their chosen military profession, reports AP.
