Scotland Yard will fight with toy guns
British intelligence agencies were seriously concerned about the number of toy weapons in the country, as it is often used by these criminals. Decided to adopt several measures to reduce the number of toy pistols and submachine guns.
British police have established that only through the port of Felixstowe in Suffolk in the country comes to more than half a million pieces of toy weapons a year. More than half of crimes involving firearms in the UK are committed with the use of fakes.
In this regard, Scotland Yard launched a special campaign, during which citizens can anonymously surrender their existing presence in the toy "guns." The police will also take action against stores selling fakes, holding them to scrutiny and will be dealt with with the companies selling such goods over the Internet, in the courts.
We recall that in October 2007 in the UK passed a law prohibiting the manufacture, importation and sale of imitations of real weapons. At the same time has increased the sentence for possession of toy guns in public places from six months to one year.
