Environmentalists from the Kamchatka Branch of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) made an unexpected statement. It turns out that the recent catastrophic landslide in the famous Valley of Geysers is not caused harm to the monument of nature, and vice versa - was even very helpful.

This is, in particular, "said WWF Representative Laura Williams. According to her, now, on-site landslide formed one large lake and a network of small lakes, as well as left and part of the geysers. In addition, an ecologist believes that now tourists can observe the natural process of restoring the valley. "After all, people do not often see how their eyes change the face of the earth," - said Williams.

At the same time, the environmentalist admitted that some of the geysers and thermal fields that have been in the area of the sinking, ceased to exist, and probably forever. Among them are also open in 1941, researcher Tatyana Ustinova very first geyser. On it informs " Interfax ".

Recall that in the valley of the Kamchatka River Hot Spring is known for more than 200 sources, with about 90 sources - such as hot spring. Since 1996, Kronotsky Reserve joined the World Natural Heritage Site "Volcanoes of Kamchatka".

Debris flow as the flow descended into the Valley of Geysers on June 3, covering several geysers and formed a lake in the river bed. Currently, the river broke through the mudflow, and experts are hoping that by the end of the year the Valley of Geysers is restored almost completely.
