The Baltic countries are suffering with the construction of new nuclear power plant

Estonia's President Toomas Hendrik Ilves satisfied with the progress of the project of building a new nuclear plant in Lithuania, and asked for help from partners - the Baltic states and Poland.

After meeting with policy Lech Kaczynski, Ilves said: "It is necessary to clarify the Ignalina process between partners. In our opinion, should quickly sign a shareholders' agreement between the Estonian, Lithuanian, Latvian and Polish energy companies and create a joint venture for the project. "

According to Ilves, all important decisions, in particular, the choice of the type of reactor for nuclear power plants, partners need to take together - this is the press-service of administration of the Estonian president, RBC reports.

Note that, while acting in Lithuania the second reactor of Ignalina nuclear power plant is required in the near future to close, while the new plant is scheduled to be built in 2018-2020gg.
