British police creates a platform shoe prints
UK authorities have started compiling a database of prints of shoes that will be used in the investigation of crimes.
The database will be similar to the DNA database, which started up in 1995 and which today has millions of samples.
It is expected that the new system will include tens of thousands of unique fingerprint shoes. According to British forensic experts, shoe prints at the crime scene could become the third most important material evidence of the suspect to the crime after the blood samples and DNA.
Shoe prints are often left at the crime scene - on the floor, on the ground, the body of the victim - and can provide vital assistance to the investigation into the disclosure of criminal cases. RBC reports
