British auction house Sotheby's put up in Moscow, rare manuscripts and printed materials about the history of Soviet space exploration.


The most expensive exhibit will be a report about the flight of an orbiting spacecraft "Vostok" April 12, 1961. It was written by Yuri Gagarin. The document released just four copies remaining three copies are kept in Russian archives. Experts of the auction house estimated the rarity of 500-700 thousand dollars.


Also in Moscow, it will show the Yuri Gagarin on April 10, 1961, he wrote by hand. It was delivered before the State Committee for space flight in just two days before the historic mission. It is worth noting that this question Gagarin allowed to write itself, so it was very emotional. The initial cost of the manuscript - 200-300 thousand dollars.


In addition, the exhibition will see personal diaries and notebooks of Vasily Mishin 1960-1964 years, the former "right hand" of the founder of the Russian space Sergei Korolev. Manuscripts (300-500 thousand dollars) tell us about the development of Soviet space exploration program.
The exhibits are American industrialist H. Ross Perot, they were acquired by them 15 years ago at Sotheby's on the history of Russian space. Again rarities will be exhibited at auction in New York on Dec. 11, 2008.


The proceeds from the auction money is donated to the Pen, which provides charitable grants in the areas of health and higher education.
