Disabled pensioners sat in an elevator for 3 days

In Berlin, an elderly disabled person sat in a broken elevator to the hospital for 3 days.

68-year-old Karlheinz Schmidt, who, after an industrial accident in 1980 forced to move around in a wheelchair, lives in a nursing home. Last Friday about 13 o'clock in the afternoon he was brought for examination by an ophthalmologist at a nearby hospital.

Visiting a doctor on the fifth floor, a retiree decided to go down the elevator. But going into the booth and press the button, he slipped and fell on the floor. Lift a few times rode up and down, retired pressed the emergency call button, but to help him no one came. In a broken elevator elderly man had to spend three days.

"It was hot and stuffy. Water I did not have just a little biscuit. I was scared. I lost track of time and did not know how long I'm there", - said after a former prisoner.

No one noticed that one of the three elevators at the clinic broke. And only on Monday at 22:30 idle elevator noticed one of the nurses, which caused an electrician. Because of this pensioner was rescued from the "captivity".

All the time that Karlheinz Schmidt sat trapped in an elevator hospitals, looking at his clinic nurses, doctors and police. Divers dived into the nearest canal, and the son of the missing posted messages about the loss, reports the German newspaper "Bild".
