A massive study of the Great Wall of China
Begin large-scale geographical studies of the Great Wall of China, to determine its exact length, as well as the layout and the current state of facilities.
By April 2007, will be completed field study of that part of the wall, which was built in an era of almost three-hundred year reign of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 years).
Over the next two years are examined fragments of the wall of earlier construction, and will be defined more precisely, its length.
The last such large-scale study of the Great Wall of China took place in 1980. But because of the paucity of technology most of the buildings had been neglected.
Building the Great Wall started in the third century BC during the Qin Dynasty. During the reign of the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty wall nearly collapsed under the influence of time. Informs Blotter.
