Died soldiers hoisted the flag on the Reichstag

In Pskov, died WWII veteran Mikhail Petrovich Minin, an honorary citizen of the city, was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, two Orders of the Patriotic War, Red Star and many medals in his time one of the first Soviet flag hoisted on the Reichstag.

Minin was born July 29, 1922 in Palkino district of the Pskov region, went to war in July 1941, fought on the Leningrad front, was wounded.

After hospitalization, he continued service in an artillery reconnaissance battalion, having with him the way from Leningrad to Berlin.

In 1945, Michael Petrovich was involved in the capture of the Reichstag and, together with the comrades hoisted him the Victory Banner.

And after the war, Minin was left to serve in the army, and in 1959 graduated from the Military Academy of Kuibyshev, after which he served in spetsvoyskah strategic purpose. Since 1977, the veteran lived in Pskov, transmits the Pskov Information Agency.
