In Nicaragua, 300 families were cut off from the outside world because of hurricane

About 300 families were cut off from the outside world in the mountain areas of Nicaragua in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Felix. The hurricane has destroyed roads, telecommunication lines and electricity, destroyed the crops in the vicinity of Bonanza, located 280 km north of the capital Managua. Residents of three villages in need of food, water, medicines and medical care.

This became known due to the fact that a few people managed to escape from the disaster area after three days' journey through the mountains.

According to recent data, the number of victims of Hurricane Felix, which struck on Sept. 4 on the coast of Nicaragua and Honduras, reaching at least 98 people. The search for victims on the coast near the border of Nicaragua and Honduras will continue, and it is possible that the number of victims of the hurricane could still rise, reports RBC.
