Congolese student has filed a lawsuit in Belgium on the publishers of comics "Tintin in the Congo." Young people need to be banned from selling in the bookstores, because these comics are promoting racism.
The book dates back to the colonial past of the Congo, where Africans were slaves, and white men by their owners. Student Mbuti Mondondo Binvenu, who lives in Brussels, said that the book "is full of colonial-era propaganda." It demands that it seized from bookstores and publishing it, which is released comics, paid a symbolic compensation of 68-lb.
Representatives of publishers are surprised that they presented such a claim because the time of action in the comics, 1931, the year when Belgium ruled the Congo, so the book just recorded historical past of the country, and consider it necessary in the context of the time, reports AFP.
