Most Russians will save on food

Two thirds of Russians save on food - these are the results of a poll conducted February 2-3 Public Opinion Foundation.

66% of Russians are forced to abandon a number of products due to their high cost, and only a third of respondents (32%) do not limit themselves to the consumption of everyday foods.

A quarter of respondents, saving on food, said that reducing costs by avoiding dairy products (25% saving), fresh vegetables (24%), fresh and frozen fish and fish processing (26-27%). Another 22% mentioned in this context, frozen meat.

Products "affordable" is often called the bread, salt, sugar, cereals and pasta (they can easily buy these products from 74% to 88% of respondents). Somewhat less frequently mentioned eggs, milk and flour. A third of the available groups include poultry (49%), dairy and meat products (48 and 43% respectively), fish (38%), as well as sweets and confectionery (40%), fresh fruits, vegetables and juices (32 -37%). Other products, including fresh and frozen meat, meat and vegetables, fish processing, etc., mentioned at least 30% of respondents.

To the question, what products they would like to buy regularly, but can not afford it, 47% of respondents said fresh meat and 32% - meat products. For fresh fruit now save 40%.

Population survey was conducted in 100 settlements of 46 regions, territories and republics of Russia. 1,5 thousand respondents interviewed. Statistical error does not exceed 3,6%.
