Keys village on the Kamchatka Peninsula was covered with ash from the volcano eruptive events. As reported by Pravda.Ru emissions of ash from the volcano Shiveluch observed during the month. The day before in the area of active dome Shiveluch seismologists recorded 500 local earthquakes and continuous spasmodic volcanic tremor.

Shiveluch, whose height is about 3,3 thousand meters, intensified in December 2006. Above its crater, periodic raises powerful pillars of gas and ash to a height of five to eight kilometers. Active dome Shiveluch, according to scientists in the last two or three years has considerably changed its shape: the slopes become unusual for the volcano slope, and the volume of the dome increased by about half.

For settlements Peninsula Volcano represents no danger. Clouds and plumes of ash, stretching hundreds of kilometers, can pose a threat to aviation security. Volcanic ash also can cause poisoning in humans and animals.
