The problem of growing volumes of garbage, can be easily solved by erecting of turning into a kind of stone pyramids of waste, which are also likely to attract tourists, said an engineer from the Dutch company Geochem Research BV Roelof Sheyling.

In an article in International Journal of Global Environmental Issues, Sheyling called the best of the currently used methods of disposal of solid and toxic waste - dumping them underground - a "dangerous and untested."

According to him, to prevent the entry of toxic substances into the ground and groundwater waste must be mixed with cement. If you give thus treated debris form of plates, of which can be stacked pyramid.

"This method allows you to easily monitor the status of waste and does not require" eternal "monitoring system", - explains Sheyling.

He points out that water-repellent coating can reduce the leakage of materials from the pyramids to an absolute minimum.

"Pyramids, erected in prominent places, could become tourist attraction and source of income, rather than a burden for the budget", - adds Sheyling.

He believes that these facilities can be used as the basis for the construction of buildings, offices and entertainment centers, especially in areas prone to flood hazard.

Rammed debris for construction of dams, and even entire artificial islands already in use for decades in Japan, where law prohibits the dumping of waste into the ocean.
