During the raid in the heart of Glasgow Police was found painting "Madonna of the spindle," works by the great Leonardo da Vinci. This painting listed among the ten most wanted works of art, compiled by the FBI.

Four people were arrested, one of whom lives in Glasgow, and three others were "guests" of the English county of Lancashire. "The investigation is moving forward quickly and we can not make any further comment until then, until the picture is not to be formally identified," - said a police spokesman.

A masterpiece of almost 200 years belonged to the family of the Dukes Buccleugh, but on Aug. 27, 2003 painting was stolen from his castle Dramlenrig. The two men bought tickets in the open for visitors to the gallery, and then tied custodians of the museum and took a picture on the street, then fled.

The cost of painting, which depicts the Virgin and Child, holding a spindle in the form of a cross, experts estimate 25 million pounds, reports AP.
