29 Russian museums have received grants from Potanin

The competition "The Changing Museum in a Changing World" - 29 Russian museums have received grants to develop their own projects. The total grant fund amounted to 15.4 million rubles.

At the awards ceremony of the Culture Minister Alexander Avdeev   said: "I am grateful to Potanin's initiative and selfless devotion." In his view, the Vladimir Potanin Charity Fund, which established this event contributes to the development of museums in Russia. "These projects were selected by the jury of the 300 cast in the call for proposals from different regions of Russia", - said the minister.

Among the winners - the project "Stavropol - home of elephants" Stavropol State Museum Preserve. Grant museum workers spend to save a unique discovery - the fifth found in the world of southern elephant skeleton discovered in fall 2007 in the quarry near the village of Plains Stavropol Territory.

In the "Museum of Technology and Tourism" won Kolomna center of tourism NP-city museum. The center's employees came up to create a museum based on the preserved merchant's shop, where it will go tasting paste, cooked according to old recipes. By the way, this project received the maximum grant of 700 thousand rubles.
