The last time Mallory and Irvine seen with binoculars about 250 meters from the summit. In 1999 it was found the body of George Mallory. The current expedition will try to establish if they could become the first conquerors of the highest mountain of the world, reports BBC.
Officially, the first conquest of Everest is credited with New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, ascended to the summit in 1953. If you attempt to conquer Everest climbers will use no modern equipment and clothing, but only to those materials that could be available to Mallory and Irvine: tents, hemp ropes, underwear and clothing from wool silk.
The most difficult part of the route - the so-called second stage: almost vertical cliffs about 40 meters. This plot is so complicated that it is now set on a cliff ladder to help the weary climbers. However, for Kevin So and Conrad Anker, these stairs will be removed, and climbers will enjoy the old-fashioned special ropes.
