In Turkey, started a guerrilla war against smoking

Last Thursday, the Turkish parliament approved a bill banning smoking in public places.

Earlier in Turkey was banned smoking on buses, airplanes and large public organizations. The new law prohibits smoking in all government buildings, offices, restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping centers, schools, taxis, stadiums and hospitals.

Besides wishing to smoke on the street near schools, hotels, psychiatric hospitals, nursing homes and prisons now have to do it in designated areas. Such as special rooms for smokers will be equipped for major sporting events and concerts.

Also be punished, and the hosts facilities in which visitors continue to smoke. They will have to pay fines of up to 5000 Turkish liras (4300 dollars), and by smokers - about 50 YTL ($ 43). In addition, companies that advertise tobacco products, selling them at reduced prices, or share them out on promotions will be subject to fines of up to 250 thousand Turkish liras (about 215 thousand dollars).

As written by Reuters, the ban applies to smoking cigarettes, pipes and hookahs. The bill will take effect four months after its signature by the President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, followed by a 18-month transitional period, then the law will come into full force.
