08:55

October 2 introduced a complete ban on smoking in public places in India. The new rules prohibit smoking in federal buildings, office buildings, hospitals, schools and colleges, railway stations, airports and at bus stops, as well as hotels and restaurants.

Penalty for violation of the rules will be 200 rupees (about 120 rubles), but the authorities do not rule out that soon it will be upgraded. From now on, smoking will only be in designated areas equipped with ventilation, reports Radio Mayak.
