Letter from Lincoln's children is estimated at $ 5 million

Sotheby's to auction in New York on Thursday with an initial estimate of $ 5 million letter of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln for children. This is a handwritten message of Lincoln's "little citizens", dated April 5, 1864 was a response to a petition by 195 children from northern Massachusetts, asks him to release all children held in bondage. Lincoln received 250 to 500 letters a day and rarely enter into correspondence, for it led her two assistants. Regarded as the most democratic and accessible leader of his age, he personally read only one letter out of a hundred. But this time the president made an exception to the rule.
