Native explorers will meet in St. Petersburg with Santa Claus

In St. Petersburg Museum of Arctic and Antarctic, Santa Claus will meet with relatives of the Russian Antarctic polar station Novolazarevskaya.

Relatives of the polar prepared letters and Christmas gifts for their loved ones. Santa Claus will give them to their destination, when he went on a long journey to the most southern continent of the Earth, according to ITAR-TASS .

Station Novolazarevskaya opened Vladislav Gerbovichem January 18, 1961. It is located in the eastern part of the Schirmacher Oasis, on the coast of Queen Maud Land, about 80 km from the shore of the Lazarev Sea. In 2007 there was built first in the history of scientific exploration of the mainland real Russian banya.
