Russian art breaks records Sotheby's

22:54 In London, the auction of Russian art house " Sotheby's "set a new record price. At the auction were sold more than 490 works of Russian fine and applied arts of 27.67 million pounds.
Over 2.8 million pounds, twice the estimated value of the lot were sold to two imperial porcelain vases, donated by Nicholas I to the British Ambassador to Russia John Lambton.
Varyag on Dnepr "Konstantin Aivazovsky went under the hammer for more than 1.7 million pounds, according to "Novye Izvestia".
