The situation on the border between Georgia and South Ossetia remains tense

Because of the concentration of Georgian troops at the administrative border between Georgia and South Ossetia, the situation in the area remains tense. "In the villages adjacent to the Georgian side, there is still a cluster of Georgian forces. The situation remains tense," - said the representative of the South Ossetian government, Irina Gagloyeva. The Georgian side has not yet attempt to shelling the South Ossetian territory, but received information about their active movement, she added. Earlier Gagloyeva told Interfax that the Georgian side started the military increased along the border with Leningorsk area where tightened military units and heavy machinery. According to her, representatives of district administration was informed that night by Georgian units produced single shots in the direction of residential villages of the district, and the threatened population, demanding to leave their homes.
