The head of an international police force, resigned because of corruption
Interpol President Jackie Selebi has resigned - he very soon will be indicted for corruption. The message of the international organization said that "he did so in the interests of Interpol and out of respect to compliance with the law throughout the world."
It is known that the corruption charges which will be presented to the president of Interpol, related to his work even as the police chief of South Africa, reports Reuters.
We note that the prosecutor's office of South Africa argues that Jackie Selebi received at least 170 thousand dollars over the past 5 years from one of the prisoners, the sentence which was commuted under pressure from the chief of the South African Police. In this case, Selebi admitted that was a friend of the prisoner, but denies receiving bribes from him.
