08:17 On this day, Orthodox Christians celebrate biggest holiday - the Annunciation. In honor of the joyful events of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II will make in the Annunciation Cathedral of Moscow Kremlin divine liturgy and ancient custom release in the sky above the Cathedral Square a flock of pigeons.
Also on 7 April is day of memory of St Tikhon - the first since the restoration of the patriarchate in 1917, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, the new martyrs. On this occasion today in the Donskoy Monastery in Moscow, where the relics of the saint, also held a solemn service, RIA Novosti news agency.
