February 6 2008
06:40

Last night with a sunset in Buddhist monasteries began to burn fires. This is one of the last rites on the eve of the New Year for the Eastern calendar. In the dusk outside the monasteries lamas priests lit great bonfires, which are called "Sour". In these believers symbolically burned all unfavorable, spiritual obstacles, bad thoughts and diseases of the year.

It is believed that the ancient ritual - Dugzhuuba - inhibits 64 the evil forces that cause misery and symbolizes the fiery purification on the eve of the New Year. Year of the Yellow Ground Mouse comes to Buddhists on February 7, passes RSN.
