Activities of international observers in the upcoming Duma elections in Russia will be limited. According to the source of the OSCE, Moscow has violated the tradition - in advance of inviting observers. As a rule, observers arrive in six to eight weeks before the election, to be able to objectively evaluate the progress of the campaign and electoral preparations.

Russian officials said that Russia does not need a long-term observers, because it is a stable country. However, the OSCE believes that the credibility of the electoral process is possible when being watched in advance for several weeks, rather than a few days before voting, reports BBC.
