Ukrainian parliament to hold first meeting with new members

Solemn meeting to mark the opening of the first session of the Verkhovna Rada of the 6 th Convocation held on Friday in the capital of Ukraine.

Speaker of the Parliament will hold its 5-th convocation Oleksandr Moroz. According to the scenario, the eldest of the newly elected MP at the ceremonial meeting read out the oath. This deputy is a representative of the Communist Party of Ukraine Ivan Gerasimov.

After the closing ceremony of the planned meeting, and A. Moroz, tell that to 12.00 (13:00 GMT) newly elected deputies must sign the oath on the 3 rd floor of the Verkhovna Rada. At 12.00 presiding at a meeting of the Preparatory Deputy Group Head - Raisa Bogatyryova - should inform about the results of taking the oath. Gerasimov should open the first plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.

At the session of Parliament will be read out a statement of the Cabinet of Ministers of the sum of their powers to the newly elected parliament. For these MPs will listen to an extraordinary message from the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko on internal and external situation of Ukraine, as well as the report of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada 5-th convocation on the state legislative work. After that, as expected, the meeting will be adjourned for a period of formation and registration of factions in the Verkhovna Rada. Next meeting will be considered on the order of coverage of the Verkhovna Rada of the 6 th Convocation, and announced that registration in the apparatus of factions of the Verkhovna Rada June convocation.

Then the deputies should be elected by the counting commission of the parliament and to consider approving the list of committees of the Verkhovna Rada, their names, Quantitative composition and the terms of reference. After considering all these issues, the first plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada will end. According to the scenario at the next plenary meeting of the presiding officer shall announce the formation of a coalition of parliamentary factions in the Verkhovna Rada, which should take place after the election of the chairman of parliament. As a result of early elections on September 30 the Party of Regions will get 175 seats, the Bloc - 156, block "Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense - 72, the Communist Party - 27, Lytvyn's Bloc - 20 seats, reports news agency" Interfax ".
