"Other Russia" will not participate in the 2007 parliamentary elections
The opposition coalition The Other Russia "should not participate in the election, legitimizing the power of acting in the country. Instead, the opposition should hold an alternative presidential and parliamentary elections. About this at the conference "Another Russia", said economist Andrei Illarionov. According to him, "participation in the alternative elections will show who the presidential candidate really intends to fight for change in the situation in the country, and who is only in order to keep warm," reported Kasparov.ru.
Statement by Mr Illarionov has caused considerable surprise among journalists and some of the more sane members of the conference. After the sentence "the economist" means only one thing - "Other Russia" refuses to be in the public policy field.
