The Greeks went on a protest

Hundreds of demonstrators held a protest outside the Israeli Embassy in Athens, demanding the immediate cessation of military operations in Gaza.

Campaign organized by the Greek left the organization Vserabochy front against the participation of the Palestinian community in Greece.

Protesters burned flags of NATO, EU, U.S. and Israel outside the Israeli embassy. Demonstrators carried banners and chanted calls for an immediate cessation of military operations, Israeli forces, to send urgent aid to the Palestinians and an end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Speakers at the rally speakers said the clashes in recent weeks, during which killed 117 Palestinians, stressing that "this added to the inhuman blockade of the Gaza Strip, closing the borders with Egypt and sending new units of U.S. Marines in the region."

As said the protesters, the objective of the U.S., EU and the so-called peace agreements that they are pushing, is to subjugate the Palestinian people and to break their resistance. Participants of the rally was called "unacceptable" position of the Greek government and the UN Security Council, which, in their words, "encourage Israel to escalate violence."

According to ITAR-TASS, the demonstrators called for the immediate withdrawal of the Greek Navy from Lebanon and the closure of a U.S. military base in the town of the Court on the Greek island of Crete.
