Washington offers to Tehran to hold direct talks on Iran's nuclear program, without intermediaries, provided that Iran immediately cease work on uranium enrichment. In this case, according to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to Iran came the moment of truth.

"It's something like a" moment of truth "for Iran. I do not know what they (the Iranians) will do, but I know that they face a critical choice" - she said in an interview with television channel C-PBS.

Rice said Iran should accept the U.S. proposal.

"If they do not, we will have to go to another course, which, of course, involves the use of sanctions and punishments", - said Rice.

At the same time, Iran is not going to negotiate with Washington on nuclear research in the country. This was stated by Iran's oil minister VASER-Hamaneh in an interview with Venezuelan television.

He accused Washington of deliberately encouraging the growth of oil prices, which is held by threatening the Iranian government, according to Ekho Moskvy.
