Heads of state-owned corporations are required to report income

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a series of decrees, which expands the list of officials who are required to publicly report annually on income and assets. Now this group of people are also heads of state corporations.

As explained by the head of Kremlin administration, Sergei Naryshkin, indeed, presidential decree formalized procedure for a public declaration of income and assets of officials and their families. Previously, civil servants were not obliged to provide this information to the public press.

"In case the information or knowingly providing false information to qualify for the posts deprived of the possibility of an appointment, and the persons who occupy positions may be subject to disciplinary action, including dismissal," - said Naryshkin. Monitoring the validity of the data provided will be staffing the service departments. However, verification of the legality of income and property of origin in their duties not included, these should be dealt with monitoring and enforcement bodies.

Under the decree, civil servants provide information on income for the year on principal place of employment and other sources. And, in a report published by total income, without going into detail on the sources. In addition, the declaration must also contain information on available apartments and houses by country-location and area, as well as cars.
