American audiences have exchanged the cinema on DVD

USA. According to a Gallup poll, Americans have less to visit cinemas .

About half of those surveyed confirmed that they were less likely to go to the movies, and only 15 percent - that more often.

One third of respondents prefer the cinema home decor and watch movies in DVD-format.

A quarter of respondents did not go to the movies because it's expensive.

One in five people believes contemporary films poor quality.

In recent years, DVD sales have exceeded revenues from box office receipts tripled. Simultaneously, the third consecutive year the number of visitors drops cinemas, and the income from ticket sales fell to the mid 90's. Distributors are seriously concerned about these figures, they commissioned a poll and Gallup, says Editor & Publisher.
