13:55 In connection with the tragedy in Katowice, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of condolences to President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczynski.
"Russia is shocked by the news of the tragedy in Katowice, which caused numerous casualties. On behalf of all Russians and myself, I extend sincere sympathy to the Polish people and I express my deep condolences to the relatives of the victims and wishes speedy recovery to all victims" - quoted a telegram to the press office of President of Russia.
