Red Sea has taken an important archaeological find

Italian and American archaeologists have found remains of the ancient fleet on the Red Sea, a few miles south of the Egyptian port of Safaga.

The five caves in the area of Mersa Gavasis scientists discovered the remains of the ancient fleet: 80 units of sailing ropes of varying thickness, debris frames and other wooden parts of warships. The find dates back to 2050-1786 years BC. Now the artifacts referred to the workshop for restoration.

Made finding experts was referred to as one of the most telling about the history of navigation in ancient Egypt. At the moment, the scientists found that the Egyptians used to build ships of cedar wood from northern Syria, is, according to historians, proves that the ancient Egyptians made extensive use of the fleet and achieved a high level in shipbuilding, according to NTV.
