Another mystery of the famous Stonehenge

Scientists from the University of Sheffield believe that ancient people would gather for the rituals in the famous Stonehenge during the winter solstice.

The specialists examined the teeth of pigs killed during the rituals. During the Neolithic cultivated by our ancestors breed pigs give birth to pups once a year, but only in the spring. All found the remains belong to persons who are under a year old. According to experts, they were killed in December or January, that is just waiting for the winter solstice.

Until now, many were convinced that the rituals were committed during the summer solstice. On Monday, is expected to arrive on this occasion at Stonehenge tens of thousands of modern followers of the ancient Druids, or simply curious, wanting to spend the night in a holy place.
