Scientists have unearthed a unique ice floe

In Antarctica, produced by deep drilling. Their result was the production of the oldest ice samples for today, which is believed to have about a million years.

The operation was conducted at the station "Dome Fuji, located in the eastern part of the continent. Boers Japanese researchers dropped to a record depth - 3028 meters. Former fossil ice samples were obtained in Antarctica, a team of European researchers, and the age of these samples was estimated at about 800,000 years.

The obtained samples are now in April, delivered by sea to Japan. Specialists are going to use them to set the number of carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere at different times, according to RDA.
