With mental disorders cope Internet

People who suffer from panic attacks and rampant fear, no longer need to attend sessions of the therapist. Get rid of their problems, they can via the Internet, the conclusion made by Australian scientists Monash University in Melbourne.

Panic attacks may be accompanied by an intense fear and physical symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, forgetfulness and nausea. Unexpected panic attacks are called in medicine panic disorder.

Scientists in their study compared three types of treatment for these disorders: psychological sessions via the Internet, direct visits to the doctor and the use of sedation under the supervision of a specialist.

More than two years, lasted for a study and its preliminary results showed that Internet therapy was as effective as psychotherapy sessions. She and direct communication with the doctor also helps get rid of disturbing thoughts and relieves stress.

Internet sessions are as follows: the patient therapist sends an email, which describes his fears and their causes, and then waits for a response doctor. Scientists note that very often happens that a patient's fears are yet to read their response. They are cause for this is that during the writing of letters the patient himself analyzes the causes of their fears, and it helps him cope with them.

"If further studies confirm that treatment of panic disorder via e-mail is not worse than visits to the doctor helps patients, thanks to the Internet, many people will be able to get rid of panic attacks.
